Powerful data analysis and decision support
Multi-dimensional analysis - flexibly summarise and browse your data
Pivot data - display your data as a table with a column for each (say) year
Drill-down - explore hierarchies of data (e.g. year-quarter-month) by double-clicking
Filter - restrict the data you are viewing by various criteria
Aggregates - display counts of data, sum and average of values, percentages etc
Sets - easily scroll through your data by year, salesman etc

Operational analysis and action, exception reporting
Consider a data mart that holds sales orders, customers, products etc
You can list customers who meet criteria (not paid, replied to campaign x, Bristol postcode etc)
Then print the list and phone them, make a Word mail-merge file to send them letters etc
Exception reporting - e.g. identify sales orders over a certain amount for special tracking
Alerts - users can be alerted when certain criteria are met

Easy for non-techical users
From a new definition you can be analysing data in just three mouse-clicks, in 8 mouse clicks
you can display average profit by product and region, just one more click to get a graph or report
Can restrict selected users to using only queries that have been previously authorised
Simple screens - define queries and see output from one main screen that has a single menu bar

Display and output options
Data is initially displayed in a data sheet, from where you can drill down or change display options
A single click takes you to a default graph or a default report
You can view graphs as bar, stacked bar, 3D, line etc
Reports list data in same order and relative widths as the data sheet with extra formatting options
You can also output data to the clipboard, to word merge files, databases etc

Data can be extracted and combined from many sources
Data can come from Access, Oracle, SQL Server, spreadsheets; any ODBC-compatable format
Can access operational systems directly, but usually extract and restructure for efficient analysis
Data can be combined from different systems into one structure for seamless reporting

Other useful features
System can be made secure, each data mart can have three levels of user
Can control reload of data from withing AnalyseWorks
Experienced users can define and save their own calculated fields
You can be prompted for values for filters each time a query is run
Date filters can be 'relative to today', e.g. between 2 and 6 months before today, or 'last year'
Can run 'stand alone' on a PC disconnected from the network
Can make a series of reports and graphs into a 'reporting pack' that can be run by a single click
Can view data as percentages, restrict to top/bottom values, have cumulative totals
