AnalyseWorks - Screens
Defining queries and viewing the results
The main 'explorer' screen in AnalyseWorks
- The menubar at the top lets you save or load new queries, graph, report, sort, navigate, insert and delete columns etc
- The pivot/show totals area controls if you are using the 'pivot table' function, what data you are analysing with pivot,
and if a total-number column is shown
- The main body of the screen is a data table of the results of the current query
- The buttons at the right control how you drill-down and navigate into the data
- The bottom left navigation area shows how you have navigated to 'where you are now';
you can edit this to save retracing your steps and navigating differently,
and with 'sets' you can instantly scroll through data (by year in this case)
- The bottom right restriction area enables you to filter out the data you are not interested in;
an 'advanced' option lets you use and/or and brackets;
'ask' means you are prompted for values each time the query is run
- The buttons at the right give access to advanced configuration options and some short-cuts
One click on the Graph icon and ...

- Because in this case we are using 'sets' on years, there is a set of graphs made, one per year
- You can scroll through each graph, and print a specific one or all
One click on the Report icon and ...
- Reports generated automatically
- Control over orientation, font size, number of pages wide, gap between sets etc
- Order and relative width of columns taken from layout in data sheet
